THE TEAM BEHIND THE AWARDS

Introduced in 2020, The People’s Choice Spirits Awards (part of the People’s Choice Drinks Awards competitions) is run by Janet Harrison, together with Judy Kendrick from JK Marketing.  Jointly, they have decades of experience creating and delivering iconic trade and consumer events and effective marketing and research projects.  

They also organise the award-winning Sustainability in Drinks, a much-needed exhibition, talks and workshops, featuring a high level panel debate and keynote address.

Due to the reputation of the PCWA, submission numbers have increased year-on-year, since its creation in 2017.

A SNAPSHOT OF WHAT THE AWARDS ARE ALL ABOUT

The consumer-friendly spirits categories are open to submissions from all around the world at any price point. Submissions are welcomed from all sources, including importers, independent retailers, restaurants and bars,  supermarkets and producers.

Hand-picked, enthusiastic spirits consumers (chosen via an application process) are invited to judge alongside WSET students at all levels and qualified industry experts making the competition exciting, inclusive and relevant to today’s spirits business. This is backed up by spirits professionals, including drinks writers, respected buyers, importers, retailers and distillers. See some of our judges here here.

Marketing and promotion include consumer tastings, trade and consumer press coverage.  

This is all included within the submission fee. Entrants and sponsors also have access to marketing, research and consumer focus group projects.  Partnerships with education bodies (WSET), trade media (The Buyer) and drinks marketing professionals (JK Marketing) ensure that medal winning spirits have the maximum exposure.

Above all, our focus is on helping producers and suppliers sell more spirits and helping consumers and trade access the spirits they love.
